Julia Burns
Born in County Durham into a very creative household, professional artist Julia Burns studied painting at The Slade. Julia is an established abstract painter and her large, brightly coloured, abstract canvases hang in private collections all over the world. However, in 2008 she founded Red Hen Originals, a design-led lifestyle business, with a vision to make high quality and affordable original art more accessible. She uses the age-old method of potato printing to produce her charming and unique images that she manages to fill with life and character. Taking inspiration from the beauty of her North Yorkshire location, her subjects range from the eponymous Red Hen to the many other much-loved birds and animals which share her rural surroundings. The images look equally at home on the wall of a child's bedroom, in the kitchen or hanging in a boardroom.
